18 Teaching Days Left....WHAT?????

We have been counting down to graduation....quite certain that I had at least 20 days left to teach....and low and behold, changing over the calendar today, I never accounted for Lagoon day (not that we're not teaching, but we're not in school) and THEN Memorial day....oops!

Needless to say, we are going to kick it into overdrive for the rest of this week and next week. We will be finishing up a number of different units, and filling in a spattering of NWEA tests along the way. We took our Reading NWEA today and have three more to go!

A few reminders:
Friday we have an assembly and our immigration luncheon. Friday Urban Legends are due also.

Friday's writing assignment is each student's Family Legislation. It is written in bill form, and of course typed! :)

We will also be sending home graduation letters soon, (maybe next Monday).

On May 13th our four sixth grade representatives will be on the agenda for the GFA Board meeting at 6:30. Other students are welcome to come and support their peers as they present the legislation to the Board. The entire sixth grade class worked on it, and this will be the culmination of their work. They are prepared for the Board to ask questions, and not necessarily vote, but nonetheless, their work will be done once they present.
let's encourage them that evening and support their hard work.

I am still planning the calendar for May since I have to adjust for less days than I thought. I will post the calendar tomorrow.

Guys' and Girls' nights out are on the calendar for sure. Guys' and Girls' night out is a tradition in the Goers suite, just as chairing is for birthdays! We spend an evening together doing something invigorating. Guys' night will be the 18th of May, girls' night, the 25th. The conversation and debate surrounding what exactly we are going to be doing is a joy to hear. More info to come!

Welcome MAY! :)
