Importance of Handwriting

At GFA we believe that handwriting is more than just a wrote learning experience that students loathe. Instead we know that the actual writing on the page has much to do with brain development and remembering material that has been taught.

Sixth Grade Sedulous Scholars are expected to write in cursive, and will have to hand write every paper until fourth quarter when they can then begin to type out papers to be handed in. They will still write out the parts of their papers in their Language Arts Notebooks, but will be able to type the final product to hand in on Fridays. By then teachers are familiar with writing styles and will be able to hear the voice of the student writing in the typed composition. Please encourage your scholar to write on paper with a pen or pencil as often as possible.
