Get Well Jacqui!!!!!!

During Character today students prepared a poster for Jacqui as a get well message. Jacqui is having to persevere through a bout of illness. We wish her all the best as she recovers.
the week started off a little rough, but many thanks to Mrs. Berkholder who willingly stepped in to sub for me yesterday while I fought off the flu. Today I spent most of the day on the couch and the scholars were excellent while I tried to get myself together.

Wednesday scholars will take the History test, and Thursday the Latin test. The Math test will probably have to wait until Friday. The writing assignment for this week is the individual Moral Code that each scholar has been writing. They are to print them out and I will have them laminated for their lockers.

We are reviewing science this week, and as soon as I get the next unit packet printed we will begin our unit on Oceans and then Plate tectonics. We have continued with To Kill a Mockingbird and Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry. Scholars are enjoying these novels....ask them what's happening, or what their favorite parts are so they can review in the evening.

Saturday is our last Forensics Tournament. Emails were sent out to families of students who are participating. If you would like to help out, even if your student is not competing, please let me know. We are looking for judges, food for lunches for coaches and judges, and general volunteers. Please contact me via email if you would like to be involved.

Graduation letters will be coming home soon. Please be looking for them, I will send them via email. The graduation ceremony is NOT required. If you choose to participate there will be a fee for each student. If you choose to participate, please print out the email and send in the funds for your scholar. Each letter will be individualized.

We will have a graduation meeting with the room moms next week, and then they will be asking for volunteers to help decorate, etc. We have a system that worked well for us last year, and everyone was pleased. Because we have so much to do, our 6th grade moms helped all day to get the room ready for the actual graduation. Then everyone went home and got ready for the event. The kindergarten parents then took over the evening, serving refreshments and cleaning up. It gives the 6th grade parents time to enjoy the graduation with their students. Then for the Kindergarten graduation we send our parent volunteers to help with theirs! Everyone wins! More info to come!

Get Well Jacqui!
